What’s being proposed?

  • One: Central Hawke's Bay District Council grants a lease to Central Hawke’s Bay District Community Trust for the land that Centralines Sports Complex (pool, stadium and gym) is on up to a maximum of 15 years.
  • Two: Central Hawke's Bay District Council grants a lease to Central Hawke’s Bay District Community Trust for the land where Centralines Sports Turf and netball courts are up to a maximum of 33 years.

The buildings and facilities currently on these sites are owned by Central Hawke’s Bay District Community Trust. These leases apply only to the land on which the facilities are situated and do not include any additional land within Russell Park.

Why we’re asking you to give feedback?

At the heart of this proposal is a local-use reserve - how we make decisions on how Russell Park is used is in line with the Reserves Act 1977 and the Property Law Act 2007.

Community feedback has an impact on the Council's decision whether to lease the land or not. We want to know what you think to help inform the decision, so it best represents community views.

You can view an aerial view of the land below.
